The press conference for the Consumer Electronics Innovation Congress (CEIC) 2025 was successfully held in Shenzhen on October 28, marking the official launch of the upcoming event.
CEIC 2025, themed "New Electronics • New Experience • New Consumption", is hosted by Hetao "6+1" international industry and standards organizations, and co-organized by the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The event will kick off in Hall 2 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian) on November 6. With an exhibition area spanning approximately 15,000 m², the event will feature over 50 theme sessions running simultaneously. Nearly 300 tech enterprises from 20 countries and regions worldwide are expected to participate. CEIC 2025 will showcase globally leading smart products that utilize HarmonyOS, SparkLink, and Audio & HDR Vivid, aiming to establish a complete chain of foundational technologies, innovative products, and wonderful experiences. Notable highlights will include the global debut of the HarmonyOS 6 series, the 110-inch Mate TV, the next-generation smart cockpit, and the naked-eye holographic VR devices. Furthermore, the event will unveil the global leading technology of intelligent sound source localization + deep noise reduction.
During the press conference, Yang Tao, Deputy Director of the CEIC Organizing Committee and Secretary-General of the World WLAN Application Alliance (WAA), announced that this year's event will span 15,000 m² and center around five core sectors: smart devices, smart vehicles, smart home, digital health, and chips for new technologies. The event will highlight the latest advancements and cutting-edge trends in consumer electronics.
The congress will feature 3 keynote presentations and 16 forums, where over 300 entrepreneurs, scientists, and industry leaders will share cutting-edge insights and engage in advanced idea exchanges and in-depth discussions. Notably, the innovation capital forum will serve as a platform connecting technology, industry, and capital to accelerate the commercialization of innovations.
Alongside the congress, the Audio Vivid Music Festival will take place, featuring the world's first AI audio coding standard—Audio Vivid. Additionally, the second "SparkLink Cup" Application Challenge Finals will commence, aiming to discover and nurture young innovative talent.
Liu Yong, Deputy Director of Electronic Information Division at the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen, highlighted Shenzhen's robust smart device industry. In 2024, the city's smart device industry cluster saw a growth of over CNY200 billion, with smartphone production accounting for more than one-fifth of the national output. Shenzhen also excels in product innovation, with 31 products featured in the TIME Best Inventions of 2025—representing over 70% of all Chinese entries submitted to the list. In March of this year, Shenzhen revealed its Action Plan (2025–2026) to accelerate the development of the AI device industry. To support this plan, the city has established a dedicated fund of CNY5 billion for AI devices and another CNY1 billion fund targeting networks, communication, and smart devices. Shenzhen and Dongguan have received approval to collaborate in establishing a national pilot base for AI applications (specifically targeting mobile devices in the consumer sector) to assist enterprises in their digital-intelligent transformation efforts.
Li Wenfa, Senior Vice President of ICkey, an enterprise participating in the congress, stated that ICkey, as a high-tech enterprise specializing in electronic component distribution and industry Internet integration, will accurately match state-of-the-art chip technologies from around the world with the innovative requirements of the Chinese and global consumer electronics markets at exhibitions. ICkey is committed to delivering top-notch service to global ecosystem partners.
Qu Xiangyu, an executive from Honor, noted that Shenzhen's forward-thinking policies, strong industrial base, market-driven innovation ecosystem, and ongoing talent attraction make it the ideal host for the inaugural CEIC.
Sun Huaqing, Deputy Director of the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized that consumer electronics play a crucial role in boosting domestic demand, stabilizing growth, and serving as the primary arena for the deep integration of industrial and technological innovation. The congress is intended to implement the strategic directives of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on boosting consumption by launching a flagship event for China's consumer electronics industry, and by establishing a strong innovation chain, industrial chain, and ecosystem chain for the industry.
