Keynote speeches by leaders from diverse fields unveiled the latest technology, ecosystem, and industry trends in consumer electronics. This signaled the dawn of a new wave of AI-driven technological innovations, set to transform the future of global consumer electronics.
Opening Speech:
Fostering Innovation
Consensus and Strengthening the Industry Foundation
At the opening ceremony, Liu Lihua, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Deputy Director of the Subcommittee of Economy of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, delivered the opening speech. He pointed out that the CPC Central Committee and State Council attach great importance to boosting consumption and expanding domestic demand. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee introduced the strategy of leading new supply through new demand and generating new demand through new supply, thereby promoting positive interactions between consumption and investment, as well as between supply and demand. These strategic directions and fundamental guidance will shape the development of the consumer electronics industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Mr. Liu highlighted the importance of embracing innovative, collaborative, and green development in the present context. He stressed the need to maintain an open and inclusive mindset, continuously strengthen the industry foundation, optimize the industry ecosystem, and deepen industry collaboration to propel the high-quality development of the consumer electronics industry.
Zhang Ping, a consultant of the State Council and Chairman of the World WLAN Application Alliance (WAA), delivered a speech on behalf of the congress organizer. He stressed that the industry's progress in the next five years will hinge on the depth and breadth of technological innovations at its foundation. Zhang also stated that the Hetao "6+1" international industry and standards organizations are committed to building an open, collaborative, and global innovation ecosystem, injecting new momentum into consumer electronics.
Keynote Speeches Reveal Technology Trends and Ecosystem Changes
The congress has invited prominent figures from diverse fields to explore the latest trends in consumer electronics, covering new media, new devices, new connectivity, and new computing.
New Media: All-Media UHD Innovation
In his speech "All-Media UHD Innovation," Jiang Wenbo, a member of the Editorial Board of China Media Group (CMG) and Chairman of the UHD World Association (UWA), highlighted that UHD has progressed from improving visual image quality to upgrading audiovisual omnimedia experience. He called for accelerating the transition of TVs to omnimedia UHD on the device side, advancing AI-driven content production on the supply side, and creating a globally recognized China UHD standard that integrates the AVS codec and HDR Vivid + Audio Vivid.
New Device: HarmonyOS+SparkLink Ecosystem Flourishes, Shaping the Future Together
He Gang, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG, presented a keynote speech titled "HarmonyOS + Innovation: Co-creating a Flourishing Future." He underscored that HarmonyOS has become the digital cornerstone enabling industries across the board to fully step into an intelligent society. HarmonyOS 6 introduces breakthrough features like intelligent focus tracking, HarmonyOS-powered agent, AI-enabled screen privacy protection, and 3D imaging, signifying a transformation from being merely "usable" to truly "useful." Meanwhile, Huawei is actively developing open SparkLink capabilities and has announced that the world's first wireless earbuds featuring SparkLink audio technology—HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5—will debut this month, delivering an unparalleled immersive listening experience for users.
New Communication: Semantic Communication Transcends the Shannon Limits
In his speech "Unified Information Theory Framework and Semantic Communication," Zhang Ping proposed that semantic communication overcomes the capacity limitations of conventional communication through a synonym mapping mechanism, achieving ultra-long-distance reliable transmission. In June 2025, the world's first satellite-to-ground video semantic communication verification was successfully completed, making real-time video connections in deep space a reality.
New Short-Distance: SparkLink Powers Trillions-Level Industry Upgrades
Zhang Xiaogang, Honorary President of the International SparkLink Wireless Short-Range Communication Alliance (iSLA), pointed out in his speech "Innovation Drives the Evolution of Standards and SparkLink Accelerates Industrial Transformation" that SparkLink overcomes connection bottlenecks with features such as low latency, high concurrency, and integrated sensing, positioning, and communication. These features provide strong support for AI applications and enable comprehensive industry upgrades. The industry scale is projected to reach US$10 trillion by 2030, positioning SparkLink as a new infrastructure for the AI era.
New Network: Deep Integration of AI and Communication
Cui Shuguang, Member of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada and Commissioner of the NIDA Strategic Advisory Committee, delivered a speech titled "Computation-Driven Smart Wireless Communications." He proposed that generative AI is reshaping communication systems across three dimensions: environment understanding, resource allocation, and content generation. He called on global researchers to collaborate in building an open-source community of AI+NET, thereby promoting the advancement of intelligence-native networks.
Green and Sustainable: Driving the Long-Term Growth of Consumer Electronics
Massamba Thioye, Principal Advisor at the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), delivered a keynote speech titled "Innovation Empowers Green and Sustainable Development." He emphasized that green innovation is the key to the sustainable growth of the consumer electronics industry. He called on the industry to establish an ecosystem-driven innovation mechanism to provide continuous momentum for green innovation.
